المستخلص: يهدف البحث إلى إبراز منهج النقاد في اكتشاف العلة ومعرفة الأمور المساعدة في ذلك وقد حرصت أن تكون على قدر من الوضوح، يتوقع أن تساهم هذه الدراسة في:
-إظهار جهود علمائنا في مجال النقد المتكامل الشامل للسند والمتن.
-تسليط الضوء على منهجيتهم الرائعة في اكتشاف الخلل الغامض الخفي في أحاديث الثقات وغيرهم، من خلال دراسة الإعلال بالتفرد.
-تقريب علم العلل ومناهج النقاد فيه لطلبة العلم والباحثين.
أهمية البحث: إن وسائل النقاد في كشف العلل تحتاج إلى إبراز وتفصيل، ثم إلى أمثلة تطبيقية واضحة تعين على ذلك، ومما دفعني إلى ذلك أيضاً: خفاء مسألة الإعلال بالتفرد عن كثير من الدراسين، ووجود خلط في كثير من الدراسات أو الكتابات في اعتبار قواعد الترجيح قرائن تعليل، أو العكس، وتجيب هذه الدراسة على مجموعة من الأسئلة المتعلقة بذلك.
وخلص البحث إلى نتائج تتعلق بتحرير طرق النقاد في كشف العلة والتمييز بين قواعد الترجيح وقرائن الترجيح، مع إبراز جانب من جهود المحدثين في كشف علة التفرد، مع ما يتضمن ذلك من نقدهم للمتن، مع الأمثلة التطبيقية.

The research seeks to highlight the methodological approach of the critics in respect to detecting the defect and to know the matters assisting that, concerning which I have paid keen attention for it to be clear. The study is expected to contribute to:
- Highlighting the efforts of our scholars in the field of the complete and comprehensive critiquing of the Sanad (chain or line of narration) and the Matn (text of narration).
- To shed light upon their amazing methodology in respect to detecting the obscure and hidden flaws within the Ahadeeth (sayings) of the Thiqqaat (trustworthy narrators) and others, through studying the defects in a singular manner.
- To draw the science related to defects (‘Ilal) and the methodologies of criticism towards the students of knowledge and researchers.
The significance of the research: The means employed by the critics to reveal the defects need to be highlighted and detailed, and then clear applicational examples are needed to assist in that. I was also driven towards that because: The issue of defects in a singular manner was hidden from many of the students and there was a confusion found in many studies or writings in respect to considering the principles of outweighing as being the indicators of outweighing, or the opposite, and this study answers a host of questions related to that.
The research reached conclusions related to freeing the paths of the critics to uncover the defect and to distinguish between the principles of outweighing and the indicators of outweighing, whilst highlighting an aspect of the efforts of the scholars of Hadeeth in respect to uncovering the singular defect, with what that comprises in terms of their critiquing of the Matn (text), accompanied by applicational examples.
