المستخلص: يشغل المنهج الأسلوبي أهمية خاصة، فهو يهتم بدراسة النص الأدبي باعتباره بناءً لغويا ينتظم فيه: الأصوات، والمفردات، والتراكب، والدلالات، والسباق، ويعكس مضمونا أو رؤية موضوعية أو أيدولوجية، أو نفسية، أو تاريخية، أو اجتماعية، أو ثقافية تخص المبدع وتخضع - هذه البنية - لدراسات علمي اللغة والبلاغة في آن واحد. وهذه الدراسة بعنوان: دلالة المفردات والصور في رواية "يوميات نائب في الأرياف" دراسة أسلوبية سيموطيقية، جاءت سعياً وراء دراسة لغوية وأسلوبية لأدب توفيق الحكيم في الكلمة ودلالتها المعجمية والبلاغية؛ حيث أعطت حرية اختيار الكلمات للكاتب - في روايته - فرصة لتوليف مفردات معجمية رسمت صورة ذهنية للعالم المحيط بالكاتب في بيئة الريف في مصر في هذه الفترة من تاريخ مصر. كما عرضت الرواية مجموعة من الحقول الدلالية تمثلت في: الملابس - بيئة الريف - قطاع الشرطة - قطاع القضاء - قطاع الصحة؛ أعطت صورا رمزية للمفردات الخاصة بهذه القطاعات. ورسم الكاتب بقلمه مجموعة من الصور البديعة قامت على المجاز تمثلت في التشبيه والاستعارة، صبغت هذه الصور بالسخرية مرة وبالنقد مرات، وبالألم على حال هذه الفئة من البشر في بعض الأحيان. كما وضحت الدراسة أن أدب توفيق الحكيم على درجة عالية من الجودة الأسلوبية، وفيه سمات عديدة على مستويات: الإيقاع، والمفردات، والتركيب، والنص، والسياق الخارجي، خاصة أنه يمتاز بمفردات بلاغية غاية في الروعة.

The novel also offered a set of semantic fields represented in the clothing - rural environment - the police sector - the justice sector - health sector, given the symbolic images of the vocabulary for these sectors.
