This paper reports the results of a closed-ended questionnaire sent to 13 public relations instructors working for the Islamic University of Gaza and Al-Aqsa University, Gaza, Palestine. PR educators were asked to complete a questionnaire on public relations education in their institutions. The two universities were chosen purposively, for the purpose of the study, because they are the only two institutions in the Palestinian Territories (the West Bank and Gaza Strip) that give a degree in public relations. Al-Aqsa University started giving a degree in PR in 1998, while the Islamic University of Gaza in 2000. The paper aims to find out the extent to which these two programs fulfill the PR-teaching requirements recommended by the Commission on Public Relations Education (CPRE) in 1999; and the model for public relations education published (as a Gold Paper) in 1982 by the Education and Research Committee of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA). In other words, the study attempts to explore the competency of the PR-education programs offered by Al-Aqsa and the Islamic University of Gaza.
