المستخلص: This article aims to highlight the importance of using the new public management (NPM) as a method to promote the performance of public organizations .Firstly we discussed the concept of public service and the justifications for the survival of public organizations and their problems, as well as the approaches used to improve their performance. Secondly, we explained the beginings of new public management and the reasons of its emergence, in addition to its concept, characteristics, principles, and the most important transformations and changes that have occurred from its application.
