كانت الثورات دائمًا محفزًا للشعوب المكلومة لتنتفض على غاصبيها، وكانت الثورة الجزائرية أحد هذه الثورات التي اتخذها من يتوق إلى الحرية نبراسًا يقتدي به، وعلى غرار كل الثورات في العالم فإن أصحابها يحاولون تصديرها. وبالنسبة للشعب الفلسطيني فقد ظلت فكرة التعويل على الدول العربية في تحرير أرضه قائمة على أشدها قبل قيام الثورة الجزائرية، ولاعتقاد الفلسطينيين أنهم لا قبل لهم بإسرائيل وعتادها اتجهوا نحو توكيل العرب في نيل استقلالهم، ولذلك برز على السطح شعار "الوحدة طريق التحرير" ووصلت مشكلة فلسطين إلى ما أطلق عليه أو ما يبدو أنه (المشكلة المستعصية الحل)، وأصبح الأمل هو أن تحرر الأمة العربية وتندمج وتقوي يومًا ما على تحرير فلسطين، ولكن مشكلة فلسطين بذاتها أصبح يحوطها الغموض ويحوطها اليأس وأحيانًا فترات من الأمل وأصبح يرتكن الشعب الفلسطيني إلى الدول العربية المتحررة لكي تقوم بواجبها.. وأحيانًا يخامر شعب فلسطين نوع من الاتكال بأن دعنا نأكل لقمة العيش، ويوما ما عندما يتحرر العرب فقد يتمكنون من محاربة الصليبية الصهيونية.. إلى قيام الثورة الجزائرية التي قلبت الموازين وغيرت المفاهيم، وأعادت إلى الشعب الفلسطيني الأمل في إمكانية التعويل على نفسه في تحرير أرضه، وما عليه إلا أن يتسلح بالإرادة والعزيمة، وأن يستعين بالمستطاع والمتاح بين يديه –كما فعل الشعب الجزائري- لينال استقلاله.
