هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مدى مساهمة العوامل الاجتماعية والإدارية والذاتية والتنظيمية في واقع البحث العلمي لدى أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كليتي الجبيل الجامعية والصناعية. وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكليتي الجبيل الجامعية والصناعية من حملة الماجستير والدكتوراه والبالغ عدهم (341)، وقد تم تطبيق الدراسة على عينة عشوائية من مجتمع الدراسة بلغ عددها (92). وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن درجة الموافقة لدى أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالنسبة لواقع البحث العلمي بكليتي الجبيل الجامعية والصناعية جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، وجاءت العوامل الاجتماعية في الترتيب الأول بدرجة واقع متوسطة، ثم العوامل التنظيمية جاءت في الترتيب الثاني بدرجة ضعيفة، وفي الترتيب الثالث جاءت العوامل الذاتية بدرجة واقع ضعيفة، وفي الترتيب الرابع والأخير العوامل الإدارية بدرجة واقع ضعيفة. وفي ضوء النتائج أوصت الدراسة بعدة توصيات منها: بث روح التعاون بين كليتي الجبيل الجامعية والصناعية والقطاع الخاص من خلال التنسيق مع الشركات المحلية بهدف إيجاد شراكة حقيقية تساهم فيها الشركات بتمويل المشروعات البحثية التي تعود بالنفع على الجميع، ونشر ثقافة الوعي بأهمية البحث العلمي لدى الأساتذة والطلاب، ذلك أن القرارات المهمة والاستراتيجية لدى الدول والمؤسسات لا تتم دون الاستعانة بنتائج البحث العلمي، وضرورة إعادة النظر في اللوائح الخاصة بأعضاء هيئة التدريس، فيما يخص الحوافز التي تساهم في مضاعفة إنتاجهم العلمي، وتشكيل عوامل جذب للكفاءات المتميزة.
This study has aimed to gauge the extent to which social, administrative, individual and organizational factors have contributed to the status of scientific research of faculty members at both Jubail University and Industrial Colleges. The research community comprises the academic faculty of both Jubail University and Industrial Colleges those holding MA and PhD degrees totaling (341) members. The study has taken a random sample of (92) subjects . The results of the study have shown that the responses of faculty members rate the status of academic research at both Jubail University and Industrial Colleges as “average”. The social factors come in first place with a rating of “average”; followed by organizational factors which come in second place with a rating “weak’. In third place come individual factors, with a rating “weak’. And in the fourth and final place come administrative factors, with a rating “weak’. In the light of these findings, the study has put forward a number of recommendations. It recommended that a spirit of cooperation be fostered between the Colleges of Jubail University, Jubail Industrial College and the private sector. This can be achieved through close collaboration with local firms with the aim of finding true partnership in which the companies contribute by financing research projects which benefit all. It also recommended disseminating awareness of the culture of scientific research among teachers and students. This is because strategic and important decisions for countries and institutions cannot be taken unless aided by the results of solid scientific research. Finally, it stressed the importance of reviewing current regulations governing faculty staff as regards incentives which encourage augmenting their academic production and devise new ways to attract distinctive qualified staff.
