|b Islamic Media faces great challenges in West Africa. Some such challenges are almost identical with those in many Islamic World countries, while others are considered to be solely related to this region .These specific challenges are related to internal components of the media industry as a whole: the message, the sender, the receiver and the transmitting means. Among the fatal internal challenges of Muslim media in this region, particularly in Burkina Faso, are the following: the multiplicity of religious discourse references of different Islamic movements whose methods are sometimes at odds, such as Salafism and Sufism; non-professional ways that affects the message, its impact and futuristic efficiency; the language barrier that prevents the media message from reaching segments of society, such as non-native speakers or non-speakers of the most prevalent languages; and the intelligentsia that is distant from following TV programs in local languages. In addition to these internal challenges, there are external elements unrelated to media, such as the flood of non-Islamic and misguiding media outlets like the Qadiani and Shiites channels that are more dangerous than the secular and Christian media. The total outcome of this kind of media is an endeavor to destroy the message that has been transmitted by Islamic media with its values and principles. In this context, the lack of resources and limited financial means arises as an external challenge, as most Islamic outlets suffer from lack of resources and poor capabilities that make them unable to deliver the basics of instruments needed. Perhaps that explains the decline of Islamic media in this region on radio and TV channels. Most Islamic newspapers that were established in this region were unable to survive in the face of this scarcity of resources, although it tries to make a better come back in the era of New Media
