هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى مساعدة الوالدين للتغلب على ردود الفعل السلبية تجاه ولادة طفل معاق فكرياً من خلال برنامج إرشادي مقترح، وأجريت الدراسة على عدد (20) أسرة من أسر الأطفال المعاقين عقلياً يمثلها الأب والأم والذي تم تشخيص أطفالهم حديثاً بالإعاقة الفكرية، تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين (تجريبية وضابطة)، وتم إعداد مقياس ردود الفعل السلبية لأسر الأطفال المعاقين فكرياً، وتم تطبيق برنامج للتغلب على رود الفعل السلبية للوالدين تجاه ولادة طفل معاق فكرياً مكون من (34) جلسة إرشادية، وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات المجموعة التجريبية على مقياس ردود الفعل السلبية وأبعاده في القياسين القبلي والبعدي لصالح القياس البعدي، كما توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات المجموعة التجريبية ودرجات المجموعة الضابطة على مقياس ردود الفعل السلبية وأبعاده بعد تطبيق البرنامج الإرشادي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية، كما توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي رتب درجات المجموعة التجريبية على مقياس ردود الأفعال السلبية وأبعاده في القياسين البعدي والتتبعي لصالح القياس التتبعي.
The current study aimed to help parents to overcome negative reactions towards the birth of an intellectually disabled child through a proposed counseling program. The study was conducted on (20) families of mentally disabled children represented by the father and mother whose children were newly diagnosed with intellectual disability, they were divided into two groups (experimental and control). A scale of negative reactions was developed for families of intellectually disabled children, and a program was applied to overcome parents' negative reactions towards the birth of an intellectually disabled child, consisting of (34) counseling sessions. The study results found statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group on the negative reaction scale and its dimensions in the pre and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement. There are also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group scores on the negative reaction scale and its dimensions after implementing the counseling program in favor of the experimental group. There are statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental group's scores on the negative reactions scale and its dimensions in the post and follow-up measurements in favor of the follow-up measurement.
