يهدف البحث إلى دراسة الأوضاع الصحية في إمارة الكويت خلال المدة التي سبقت بداية النشاطات الصحية الأجنبية فيها عام 1904، إذ ركز البحث على أهمية موقع الكويت الجغرافي، لما له من أهمية في انتقال وانتشار الكثير من الأوبئة والأمراض التي تعرض لها سكان الكويت، وطرق معالجتها قبل دخول الخدمات الصحية الأجنبية الحديثة. إذ توصل البحث إلى أن الكويت كانت تعيش أوضاع صحية سيئة الأمر الذي أتاح الفرصة لان تكون عرضة لانتشار الأوبئة والأمراض بين الحين والأخر. وبالرغم من عقد العديد من المؤتمرات الدولية للحد من انتشار الأوبئة في منطقة الخليج العربي، وخروجها بعدة قرارات وتوصيات، ألا إنها لم تحد من انتشار تلك الأوبئة. كذلك ينبغي علينا أن لا ننسى الوضع الاقتصادي السيء لمعظم سكان الكويت، إذ من المعروف أن الإنسان الفقير من ناحية المورد المالي، في الغالب يكون من اقل الناس اهتماما بحالته الصحية، فضلا عن ذلك، كان لانتشار الجهل بين المجتمع الكويتي، أن شكل عائقا أمام تطور الوعي الصحي، ناهيك عن عدم وجود الطب الحديث من أطباء ومستشفيات وأجهزة وأدوية. لذلك اعتمد سكان الكويت على الطب الشعبي وتجارب المجربين لعلاج مرضاهم.

As well as we should not forget the economic situation is bad for most of the population of Kuwait, as it is well known that poor man in terms of supplier financial mostly be less people interested in his condition of health, the concern to provide a living for himself and his family under difficult working conditions may contain a lot of risks. Moreover, it was the spread of ignorance among the Kuwaiti society, that form an obstacle to the development of health awareness, not to mention the lack of modem medicine from doctors, hospitals, devices and drugs.., so I adopted the population of Kuwait on folk medicine and the experiences are tempted to treat their patients..
