المستخلص: تستعرض هذه الدراسة الاتجاهات الحديثة الخاصة بالتأهيل الأكاديمي لآخصائي المكتبات والمعلومات في الدول المتطورة لناحيتي البرامج التعليمية والمقررات. وتهدف إلى التعرف على قسم علم المكتبات والمعلومات فى الجامعة اللبنانية لناحية المناهج والمقررات المعتمدة ومطابقة مدى ملائمتها مع متطلبات البيئة الرقمية للمكتبات ومراكز المعلومات. وطبقت الدراسة منهج دراسة الحالة للتحقق والقياس بين مدى موائمة المناهج التعليمية والمقررات المعتمدة بين عينة الدراسة مع والتوجهات العالمية من خلال الاطلاع واستعراض ثلاثة توصيات عالمية صادرة عن جمعيات مهنية متخصصة للتعرف من خلالهم على المحاور الأساسية التي يجب أن يحيط بها أي منهج في علم المعلومات والمكتبات. واستعانت لذلك بالمقابلة مع الأشخاص المعنيين والملاحظة لتفحص محتوى المناهج وتوصيف المقررات. كما توصلت الدراسة الى أن المنهج اللبناني المعتمد يركز وبشكل كبير على المقررات المرتبطة بمعالجة المعلومات والتي يعتبر جزء كبير منها أعمال تطبيقية ومرتبطة بالأعمال الفنية التقليدية المطلوب معرفتها، إضافة إلى المعالجة المرتبطة بالبيئة الرقمية الجديدة. كما يهتم المنهج اللبناني بالشق الإلكتروني والجانب التقني، إلآ أنه قد غاب عنه الشق المرتبط باحتياجات المستفيدين وسلوكيات بحثهم عن المعلومات واستخدامها، وتفاعل الإنسان تقنيات المعلومات.
وخلصت الدراسة إلي مجموعة من التوصيات التي تفترض تعديل في المناهج الجامعية لجعل الطلبة الخريجين آكثر قدرة على التكيف مع الواقع الجديد والمنافسة في سوق العمل.

This study reviews the recent trends of the academic qualification for library and information specialists in the developed countries in terms of the educational programs and the curriculum. It aims to know about the Library and Information Science Department at the Lebanese University from the aspects of adopted curricula and courses and the extent to which this suits the requirements of the digital environment of the libraries and information centers. The research applied the case study to verify and measure the extent of the compatibility of the educational curricula and the adopted courses between the sample of the study and the global trends through the review of three international recommendations issued by specialized professional associations to identify through them the basic topics that must be covered by any curriculum in the science of information and libraries. The research used the interviews of the persons concerned and the observation to examine the curriculum content and the characterization of the courses. The study also found that the adopted Lebanese curriculum focuses heavily on the courses related to the processing of information, a large portion of which is practical work and related to the traditional works of art that need to be known, in addition to deal with the new digital environment. The Lebanese curriculum is also concerned with the electronic and technical aspects, but it has missed the aspect related to the needs of the beneficiaries and the behavior of their search for and use of information, and the interaction of human with information technologies.
The study concluded with a set of recommendations that presuppose a modification in the university curricula to make the graduate students more able to adapt to new realities and be able to compete in the labor market.
