المستخلص: The Israeli Knesset's approval of the Settlement Regulation Law's final version of February 6, 2017 sparked massive political reactions. The step prevents Palestinians from the right of using their land, legalizing 16 settlement spots on private land and about another 4,000 residential units. The Palestinian Authority demanded intervention by the international community, and Arab governments spoke up to condemn it. Even Israeli human rights groups opposed the law and requested its abolition from the Israeli Supreme Court. At a global level, the UN, EU and several European countries criticized it for violating the International Law and the UN Resolution no. 2334 of December 23 2016. which criminalizes and calls for the halt of the Israeli settlement in the West Bank. The political repercussions are represented in the human rights organizations' opposition as well as the government's obvious intention to legalize settlement as a point of departure to judaize the West Bank through similar continuous procedures. It is concluded that the law improves the international stance, as gradual steps are likely to criminalize settlement and pressure the Israeli governments to stop the legislation and comply with the international legitimacy.
