This paper aims at examining the manner in which the so called synony-mous expressions in the Holy Quran have been translated by three promi-nent translators, namely; Yousuf Ali, King Fahed Society of Translators and Pikhthal, and whether or not they were able to further illustrate the precise differences between each pair of these Quranic expressions. The paper has been divided into two parts: Theorectical and Practical: In the theoretical part, the phenomena of the differences in expressions with respect to the actual concept in relation to synonymy has been tackled as well as the basis on which the meanings were rendered was further illustrated. As for the pratical part of the research, a sample was collected of quranic epxressions that are categorized as synonymous but possess linguistic differences, along with an illustration of their linguistic differences using scholarly lin¬guists and interpreters as well as three prominent translators, namely; Abdul¬lah Yusuf Ali, King Fahed’s Association and Pitkthall, all of whom translated the expresions found in this research The study concluded that the translations at hand were unable to capture and completely decipher the precise differences in the Quranic verses that were examined throughout the research, thereby resulting in an uncertainty and shakiness in the translations of a number of Quranic verses.
يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعرف على كيفية ترجمة الألفاظ ذات الفوارق اللغوية التي ظاهرها الترادف في القرآن الكريم في ترجمة كل من عبد الله يوسف علي وبيكثول وهلالي وخان، وعما إذا حقق المترجمون تبيان الفروق اللغوية الدقيقة بين ألفاظ القرآن الكريم أم لم يحققوا ذلك. وقد جاء البحث في شقين: شق نظري، وشق عملي: عمدنا في الشق النظري إلى تناول ظاهرة الفوارق اللغوية من حيث مفهومها وعلاقتها بالترادف والأسس التي من خلالها تتبين الفروق اللغوية. وشق عملي: عمدنا فيه إلى حصر عينة من الألفاظ القرآنية التي تضمنت فوارق لغوية ظاهرها الترادف، ثم بينا الفوارق اللغوية بين الألفاظ من خلال أقوال اللغويين والمفسرين، وكيف ترجم عبد الله يوسف علي وبيكثول وهلالي وخان تلكم الألفاظ، ثم علقنا على هذه الترجمات بالاعتماد على قواميس اللغة الإنجليزية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن المترجمين لم يتبينوا الفوارق اللغوية في ألفاظ الآيات القرآنية -عينة الدراسة -في أغلب الأحيان، وأدى هذا الأمر إلى زعزعة المعنى في كثير من الآيات القرآنية. وعلى هذا، فظاهرة الفوارق اللغوية من أهم إشكاليات ترجمة القران الكريم.
