520		\|b As part of its membership of the World Trade Organisation, Qatar is under an obligation to issue new laws on intellectual property rights (IPR). This has culminated in the development of a number of statutes which deal with the protection and enforcement of IPR. This paper aims to investigate in depth the provisions of Patents Law No. 30/2006. It argues that there is an urgent need to strengthen the innovative and creative initiatives currently embarked on in Qatar.
