There is no doubt that the character in the literary text has a vital role, whether it is narrative or poetic. The fictional characters that come in any literature are the only way that the writer can embody his vision and sense of his reality. The characters that he personalized are to accomplish the event; so it is subject to his philosophy and vision for life. Hence the importance of this research, which will deal with the narrative characters in the novel (The Beaver) by the Saudi novelist: Mohammed Hassan Alwan, which will be addressed through: Semiotic of names, and linked it to the external and the internal construction of the characters. This will be in accordance with the method of the semiotic analysis, depending on the hermeneutical approach. The research comes in four topics as follows: The first topic: reading literary text. The second topic: semiotics. The third topic: hermeneutical method. The fourth topic: semiotic figures. | ||
