|a المقدمة هذه -موضوع التحقيق والدراسة -مقدمة نثرية لمنظومة شعرية في قراءات الأئمة الثلاثة: أبي جعفر المدني، ويعقوب البصري، وخلف الكوفي، كمل بها ناظمها الشيخ شهاب الدين الشرعبي القصيدة الشاطبية، وجعل أبيات منظومته بين أبيات الشاطبية بعد ذكر مذاهب القراء السبعة، وعلى بحر الشاطبية وقافيتها ورموزها. ولهذه المقدمة النثرية أهمية كبيرة، لأنها تعد مفتاحا لفهم المنظومة، فالمؤلف بين فيها أسباب تأليفه المنظومة، ومنهجه فيها، ورد على شبهة اعتقاد بعض الناس، بل وبعض المهتمين بالقراءات أن الأحرف السبعة هي القراءات السبع، ودافع عن تواتر القراءات الثلاث المكملة للعشر. وقد قام الباحثان بتحقيق المقدمة النثرية على نسختين مخطوطتين ونسخة مطبوعة، ودراسة المقدمة والترجمة للمؤلف وبيان سيرته العلمية والذاتية.
