كانت العملية التعليمية تعتمد علي نقل المادة العلمية نقلا نصيا من المعلم الي المتعلم حيث لا مجال للتفكير والبحث والنقاش، وتحولت بعد ذلك الى الاهتمام بالمتعلم ، ويتفق ذلك مع تقرير التنمية البشرية في مصر (2005) الذي ينادي بضرورة تحقيق نقلة نوعية في جودة التعليم، والاهتمام ببناء قدرات المتعلمين وتنمية مهاراتهم، وإكسابهم السلوكيات والمهارات المساعدة لهم في تشكيل مستقبلهم بأنفسهم، ومستقبل المجتمعات التي ينتمون اليها وتعتمد الدراسة الحالية في تنمية المهارات علي استراتيجية تنشيط المعرفة لأداء مهمة التعلم وذلك في مادة معدات الحياكة (2)والذى لوحظ فيها أن الطالبات يعانين من فهم بعض الاجزاء أثناء التدريس، وانهن لا يربطن الجزء النظري بالجزء العملي لعدم وجود الماكينات الخاصة بالتصنيع وحيث أن هذه المادة ا تضم جزء كبير من التعمق في المستويات العليا للتفكير، مما دعي الباحثة الي استخدام هذه المهارة التدريسية الحديثة لربط المعرفة بالمهارة المكتسبة ومحاولة تنمية القدرة العملية للطالبات من خلالها وتطبيقها في سوق العمل.
