This study aimed at investing the obstacles that encountered English teachers in integrating new technologies in the classroom in Libyan schools in Tripoli. The sample of the study consisted of (10) English teachers who were selected randomly from three different schools all of which were females. The data of this study were collected using two methods (semi structured interviews and classroom observations). The classroom observations were used to have some idea about the teachers’ teaching tools used in the classroom. Follow-up interviews were used to find the teachers’ technological background, attitudes towards new technologies and the problems they encountered in integrating ICT tools in the classroom. The data were analyzed using Quantitative approach. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the teachers really want to integrate ICT tools in the classroom. However, they encounterseveral barriers. The major barrier was lack of ICT resources inside the school. The other barriers were lack of teachers ’ competence, lack of effective training and teachers ‘negative attitude towards integrating ICT tools in education. The study ends with giving some recommendations and suggestions to those who are responsible for the integration of new technologies into the educational system.\
