هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على دور اقتصاد المعرفة في تطوير الجامعات السعودية ومعيقات تفعيله من وجهة نظر رؤساء الأقسام والكشف عن أثر كل من مكان عمل رئيس القسم وجنسه وخبرته في الحكم على الدور ومعيقات التفعيل. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، فقد تم تطوير استبانة تتكوف مجالين، أحدهما يتضمن دور اقتصاد المعرفة في تطوير الجامعات، والثاني يتضمن معيقات تفعيله. وقد تم تطبيق الاستبانة على عينة الدراسة المكونة من (99) رئيس قسم في الجامعات السعودية. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن دور اقتصاد المعرفة في تطوير الجامعات السعودية كان مرتفعاً، كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود اتفاق كبير بين رؤساء الأقسام في تحديد معيقات تفعيل دور اقتصاد المعرفة في تطوير الجامعات السعودية. كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين تقديرات عينة الدراسة لدور اقتصاد المعرفة في تطوير الجامعات ومعيقات تفعيله، وذلك على متغيرات الدراسة الثلاثة: مكان عمل رئيس القسم، وجنسه، وخبرته.
This study IS aimed to identify the role of the knowledge economy in the development of Saudi universities and obstacles activated from the viewpoint of heads of departments, and disclosure of the impact of each head of the department workplace, Sex and experience in judging the role of and activation obstacles. To achieve the objectives of this study, a questionnaire was developed consisting two methods, one of them includes the role the knowledge economy in the universities' development and the second includes obstacles activated. The resolution has been applied to the study sample consisting of (99), departments' heads at the Saudi universities.. The results of the study showed that the role of the knowledge economy in the development of Saudi universities was high, as they showed the presence of a large agreement between the departments' heads in identifying obstacles to activate the role of the knowledge economy in the development of Saudi universities. Also, the results showed no statistically significant differences between the study sample estimates of the role of the knowledge economy in the development of universities and obstructions activated, and the three variables of the study: the workplace of the departments' heads, sex, and experience.
