Thyroid diseases during pregnancy are related to maternal and fetal complications. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the thyroid hormones levels in Sudanese pregnant women. Materials and Methods: This study was performed in Teanbool hospital in Aljazeera state during the period from February to July 2017. 50 samples were collected from pregnant women (28% in first, 34% in second and 38% in third) as study group. In addition to other 50 non-pregnant healthy women and age matched as control group. The thyroid hormones TSH, FT3 and FT4 levels in both test and control group, were estimated by automated Cobas e 411 analyzer using electro chemiluminescence immunoassay “ECLIA” Result: decrease in all thyroid hormones in pregnant woman, also there have only significant decreased in FT4 in case (12.77±2.54) compare with control (14.80±1.95) P-value 0.000. Significant decreased showed in FT3 in second trimester (4.16±0.59) and FT4 in second (11.76±1.65) and third (11.28±1.68) trimesters when compared it with mean of control (P-value 0.045, 0.000 & 0.000) respectively. significant decreased in FT3 in second trimester (4.16±0.59) (P-value 0.006) and in FT4 in second (4.16±0.59) and third (11.28±1.68) trimesters (P-value 0.000 and 0.000) respectively When compared different trimesters together. conclusion, generally decrease in FT3, FT4 and TSH but significantly decrease in FT4 level among pregnant women compare with non-pregnant. Significant decreased in FT3 in second trimester and FT4 in second and third trimesters when compared with non-pregnant. Significant decreased in FT3 in second trimester and in FT4 in second and third trimesters when compare between different trimesters. Conclusion: The study revealed significant decrease in both fT3 and fT4 associated with slight increases of TSH level in the pregnant women.
