هدفت الدراسة التعرف على الدور الاجتماعي للشباب الجامعي في المجتمع السعودي لدى عينة من طلاب جامعة الملك سعود، وتحديد معوقات الدور الاجتماعي للشباب الجامعي في المجتمع السعودي لدى عينة من طلاب جامعة الملك سعود، وصياغة مجموعة من التوصيات لتفعيل الدور الاجتماعي للشباب الجامعي في المجتمع السعودي. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من(420) طالبا من طلاب جامعة الملك سعود بمدينة الرياض. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج من أهمها: توصلت الدراسة إلى ضعف الدور الاجتماعي الذي يؤديه الشباب الجامعي، ووجود عوامل سلبية تقف وراء ضعف هذا الدور. عدم قناعة الشباب الجامعي بقيمة وأهمية الدور الاجتماعي الذي يمكن أن يلعبه طلاب الجامعة في مواجهة وحل المشكلات الاجتماعية. ضعف فاعلية البرامج والأنشطة التي تقدمها الجامعة للطلاب فيما يخص تهيئتهم للانخراط في برامج خدمة المجتمع. ضعف الدور الاجتماعي لشباب الجامعة وضعف الإحساس بالمسؤولية الاجتماعية وذلك بمتوسط حسابي(1. 95)، وانحراف معياري(1. 20) وهذا يدل على ضعف الشعور بالمسؤولية المجتمعية وعدم قيمة الدور الاجتماعي لشباب الجامعة في معالجة القضايا المجتمعية. وتوصي الدراسة بضرورة تهيئة الشباب الجامعي للانخراط في العمل الاجتماعي وتعريفه بأهمية وقيمة الدور الذي يلعبه في تنمية المجتمع وتحقيق تقدمه، مع التأكيد على أهمية تفعيل برامج الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع. \
