المستخلص: Egypt suffers from different connected structural imbalances with mutual effect. This status had resulted from economic, political and social reasons. The two gaps model represents the main interpretive reason of the structural imbalances in the infrastructure of the economic development process, embodied by population growth with rates which could exceed the whole local growth. The weakness of capital accumulation rates and efficiency of investment as well as the failure of the productive structures and the disruption of the structure of commodities for exports and imports as well as increased employment in the service sectors on the expense of commodity sectors and increased operating expenses at the expense of investment expenditure is reflecting in the appearance of gaps interior and exterior as well as food gab, economic disclosures. The imbalances are divided into internal and external, where the research shows their reasons and effects on the Egyptian economy. By analysis, the research deals with the most important imbalances of the Egyptian economy such as the commodities imbalances, the financial and monetary imbalances and the external imbalances which cause the decline of the economic growth rate in the (GDP), the public and commercial balance deficit and the resulting economic problems such as the foreign debts, unemployment, inflation and the local currency value decline. These results forced the government in Egypt to apply a set of developing strategies, yet these strategies were weak, insufficient and unable to achieve the total improvement. The research referred that the Egyptian economy, with its great potentialities, still suffers from many structural imbalances due to the wrong economic policies that had wasted its resources and obstructed its development. This had resulted in the productive structure deficiency, the public and commercial balance deficit, the increase of debts, the decline of the monetary reserve, unemployment and poverty, Inadequate human development indicators, the increase of inflation rates and the decrease of the local currency value.
