المستخلص: The Battle of Al-Ahzab (it is called Al Khandaq, the Trench) is one of the most important battles in the Islamic history. It is the only battle where the Muslims barricaded themselves inside the city behind a large dug trench. This paper presents the characteristics of the geological, topographic and climatic conditions of Al-Madinah Al- Munawwarah. It connects these characteristics with the places of the trench and the places where the Muslims barricaded themselves. It also shows the impact of these factors in the natural course of the events of the battle and its crucial role in the failure of the task of the non-Muslims and the support of the Muslims to the leadership of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
