المستخلص: يشكّل حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط امتدادا جغرافيا واسعا وتواصلا تاريخيا وحضاريا عميقا، جعلت منه مهدا للتّواصل الحضاري في السلم والحرب، ووحّدت بين منظوماته المعمارية والعمرانية إلى حد كبير، حتى أصبح من الصعب التعرّف على الفوارق الشّكلية والمرجعيات الفكرية التي تميزها. لتنصهر جميعها- بما في ذلك المنظومة المعمارية والعمرانية العربية الإسلامية- التي لضعفها وتفكّكها بقيت دائرة في فلك المنظومة الغربية- الكونية المعاصرة، حتى أصبح من المسلّمات أنْ لا مجال لمعالجة مثل هذه المسائل خارج المرجعيّة العمرانيّة الغربيّة وبمنأى عن مفاهيمها، ومناهجها، وسياقاتها التّاريخية والمعرفية، لارتباك مفهوم العلم وتماهيه مع هذا السياق، ورغم تشابه هذه المنظومات وتقاربها من حيث الأشكال والنماذج فقد اختلفت دلالاتها ومعانيها وتبايّن بناءها الفكري والرّمزي. ممّا يستوجب الوقوف على مواقع الائتلاف والاختلاف منها، وملامسة ما هو مسكوت عنه من مزاعم التمّاهي بين الخصوصي العربي الإسلامي من جهة والغربي الكوني الحديث والمعاصر من جهة أخرى، وللتعرّف على هذه المنظومتين: الغربيّة بخلفياتها الفلسفية- المجالية ذات النزعة التوسعية الأفقية، والعربيّة الإسلاميّة بخلفياتها التشريعية- العقدية- المجالية ذات النزعة التراكمية، لتبيّن الأسباب المعرفية والمقاربات العلمية التي كانت وراء هذا الخلط الحاصل بين التّراث المعماري والعمراني بالضفة الشمالية والجنوبية للمتوسط.

The Mediterranean basin is a wide geographical extension and a deep historical and cultural connection, which has made it the cradle of civilizational communication in peace and war and has largely united its architectural and urban systems, making it difficult to identify the differences in form and intellectual terms that characterize it. . To fuse all of them, including the Arab-Islamic architectural and physical system, which, because of its weakness and disintegration, remained in the space of the contemporary Western, cosmic system, until it became clear that there was no way to address such issues outside the Western urban baseline and without its concepts, its approaches and historical and cognitive contexts are due to the confusion of the concept of science and its conformity with this context. Despite the similarity and closeness of these systems in terms of forms and models, their connotations and meanings varied, and their intellectual and symbolic structure varied. This means that it is necessary to look at their points of similarities and differences and to touch on unspoken, assumed identification between the special Arab-Islamic on the one hand and the modern and contemporary Western cosmic on the other. And to identify these two systems: Western with its philosophical and field backgrounds with a tendency to horizontal expansion, and Arab Islamic with its legislative, ideological, and field backgrounds with a cumulative tendency, to identify the reasons for the knowledge and scientific approaches that were behind this confusion between the architectural and physical heritage in the northern and southern banks of the Mediterranean.
