المستخلص: The study aimed to identify the problems facing patients with renal failure and the role of the social service in confronting them. The researcher used the comprehensive social survey methodology based on the comprehensive inventory of the 32 social workers working in Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital, King Saud Medical City and King Salman Center for Nephrology. The study used the method of the intentional sample of patients with renal failure with 60 patients representing regularly frequent patients at King Saman Kidney Center and because it is the largest dialysis center in the Middle East.
The results of the study showed that the problems facing patients with renal failure were the most important from the point of view of the patients themselves and from the point of view of social workers. As for the problems faced by patients with their families, both sides agreed that the most important problems facing patients are poor social support on the part of the family, However, the least acute is the difficulty of communicating with family members while staying in the hospital. As for the problems faced by patients in their work, both sides also agreed that the most important of these problems is the inability of the patient to continue working and the lack of appreciation by employers of the nature of the patients. As for the problems faced by the patient with friends, relatives and close ones, the patient is not involved in social events, and some relationships are interrupted as a result of the disease. As for the role of social service in confronting these problems, the most important of these roles from the point of view of specialists is to help rehabilitate the patient to be humanely equal in his social interaction with the family and society. The results also indicated that a study of the cases of patients suffering from psychological and social problems was conducted, that the patient's family should be prepared to accept it, and that labour officials should be contacted to provide them with regulations and laws concerning the work of patients and Directing friends not to talk too much about the disease in order to avoid making him feel insecure. From the patients' point of view, the most important role of the social service in confronting these problems is to help the patient to obtain financial assistance from government agencies, and to facilitate administrative procedures for the patient.

هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على المشكلات التي تواجه مرضى الفشل الكلوي ودور الخدمة الاجتماعية في مواجهتها، استخدم الباحث منهج المسح الاجتماعي الشامل بأسلوب الحصر الشامل للأخصائيين الاجتماعين وعددهم (32) اخصائي العاملين في مستشفى الامير محمد بن عبدالعزيز ومدينة الملك سعود الطبية ومركز الملك سلمان لأمراض الكلى، واستخدمت الدراسة أسلوب العينة العمدية لمرضى الفشل الكلوي بعدد (60) مريض يمثلون المرضى المترددين بانتظام بمركز الملك سمان للكلى ولأنه أكبر مركز للغسيل الكلوي بالشرق الأوسط.
حيث اظهرت نتائج الدراسة ان المشكلات التي تواجه مرضى الفشل الكلوي كانت من اهمها من وجهة نظر المرضى انفسهم ومن وجهة نظر الأخصائيين الاجتماعيين هي صعوبة الحصول على زراعة كلية، وعدم الشعور بالأمان. اما المشكلات التي تواجه المرضى مع اسرهم اتفق كلا الجانين ان اهم المشكلات التي تواجه المرضى هي ضعف المساندة الاجتماعية من جانب الأسرة ، ولكن اقلها حدة هي صعوبة التواصل مع افراد الأسرة اثناء الاقامة بالمستشفى. اما المشكلات التي تواجه المرضى في عملهم اتفق ايضا كلا الجانبين على ان اهم هذه المشكلات هي عدم قدرة المريض على الاستمرار في العمل وعدم تقدير اصحاب الاعمال لطبيعة المرضى، اما بخصوص المشكلات التي تواجه المريض مع اصدقاء واقاربه وجيرته فتتمثل في عدم اشراك المريض في المناسبات الاجتماعية، وتقطع بعض العلاقات نتيجة للمرض. اما عن دور الخدمة الاجتماعية في مواجه تلك المشكلات فكان اهم تلك الادوار من وجهة نظر الاخصائيين هي المساعدة لتأهيل المريض ليكون انسان سويا في تفاعله الاجتماعي مع الأسرة والمجتمع ، كما أشارت النتائج أيضا بعمل دراسة لحالات المرضى الذين يعانون من مشكلات نفسية واجتماعية، وتهيئة أسرة المريض لتقبله، الاتصال بالمسؤولين عن العمل لإمدادهم باللوائح والقوانين الخاصة بعمل المرضى، توجيه الاصدقاء على عدم كثرة الحديث عن المرض لتجيب شعوره بالنقص، اما من وجهة نظر المرضى فكان اهم ادوار الخدمة الاجتماعية في مواجهه تلك المشكلات تتمثل اهمها في مساعدة الاخصائي للمريض في الحصول على مساعدات مادية من جهات حكومية، وبتيسير الاجراءات الإدارية للمريض.
