المستخلص: Introduction: The diarrheal is common diseases in Sudan and affected all childhood ages but it is treatable. Aims: To evaluate outcome of rotavirus vaccination on diarrhea in Khartoum Pediatric (Jafer Ibn Auf) hospital from January 2012 to February 2013. The study objective was to compare the number of diarrhea hospitalization from all causes before and after vaccination in Khartoum Pediatric (Jafer Ibn Auf) Hospital and to calculate positive case of rotavirus among children under five years with diarrhea in the study and to assess the vaccination status of children in the study. Method: The study was hospital based descriptive cross section study included all children under five years attending in Khartoum Pediatric (Jafer Ibn Auf) hospital. The data was collected post introduction of vaccine and during January 2012 to February 2013, it is included 1602 child. Result: The study showed that the percentage of children vaccinated against rotavirus was only (19.6%) while the positive cases identified represented (23.5%). Conclusion: The high burden of rotavirus disease in Sudan indicated that the recently implemented vaccination program should substantially improve child health in Sudan. This study show reduction in morbidity rate and high efficacy of Rotavirus of vaccine (84.1).
