هدف البحث الى إلقاء الضوء على المعارف العربية الأولى في التصنيف النباتي عند العرب قبل عصر الترجمات. وإظهار المعرفة النباتية والتصنيفية المبكرة عند العرب. واستخدم البحث المنهج الوصفي. في تقديم ترجمة موجزة عن الأصمعي. وتعريف بكتاب النبات والشجر وأهميته. واشتمل الكتاب على ثلاثة اهتمامات رئيسة بارزة هي التعريف اللغوي بالأرض المنبتة. والتفريق بين النبات والشجر. والتوزيع الجغرافي لبعض أنواع النباتات. وكيف صنف الأصمعي النبات. ويتضمن أولا التصنيف حسب المظهر العام للنبات. ثانيا التصنيف حسب الطعم. ثالثا التصنيف حسب البيئة التي ينمو فيها النبات ومنها نباتات السهول ونباتات الرمال. رابعا التصنيف حسب الموقع الجغرافي الذي يكثر فيه النبات. وجاءت النتائج مؤكدة على أهمية مل قدمه الأصمعي من معلومات. لأنه جاء في فترة مبكرة. وأول مراحل التدوين والانطلاق للعلم العربي. وفي فترة كانت معظم المصنفات التي وضعت فيها مبنية على جمع المادة لبعض مظاهر البيئة. كما ساعد كتاب الأصمعي دارس الجغرافية التاريخية. ودارس النبات والبيئة على معرفة التوزع الجغرافي لأنواع وفصائل النبات. ومعرفة التنوع النباتي في المنطقة والمتغيرات التي طرأت عليه خلال العصور. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The aim of the research is to shed light on the first Arab knowledge of the phylogenetic classification among Arabs before the age of the translations and showing the early plant knowledge and classification of the Arabs. The research used the descriptive approach in providing a brief translation of Al-Asma'I and the definition of the book of plants and trees and its importance. The book includes three main concerns, namely the linguistic definition of the land of the plant, the differentiation between the plants and trees, the geographical distribution of some plant species and how to classify the plant. First, it is classified according to the general appearance of the plant. Second, classification by the taste. Third: Classification according to the environment in which plants grow including plains and sand plants. Fourth, Classification by the geographical location in which the plant is abundant. The results confirmed the importance of the information provided by Al-Asma'I because it came early and the first stages of blogging and starting for the Arab science at a time when most of the works that were put in it were based on the collection of material for some aspects of the environment. Al-Asma'i`s book also helped to study the historical geography.
