The narration, which means, transferring of news and attribution to its teller, doesn’t belong to a specific nation. Every nation has worked to keep its narrated news, through its poems, proverbs or the inscriptions of its temples and monuments, etc., and there is no doubt, that the narration is the way to knowledge once text has been verified. The narration had spread in the Arab society since the Jahili period, and they had no other option, because Arabs were illiterate nation that neither read nor write. With the coming of Islam, the narration had a great importance, as it contributed in transferring of the two main sources of legislation: the Book of Allah (The Holy Koran) and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Arabs had realized the importance of comparison between texts, and verification before transferring them, and they reached to the fundamental rules which became generally accepted among the subsequent generations in the field of authorship and verification. |
