This study is characterized by an unparalleled clarity that does not lack the glitter of depth in the analysis of the role of the Palestinian village in the Stone Intifada during its first year. The Palestinian Intifada was not an event, nor was the Palestinian village as a passing bilateral subject dealt with in an academic study written in a cold mood. Rather, they are frequently mentioned in many of Barghouti's biblical, narrative, poetic and poetic writings — documentary, lyrical, theatrical and cinematic film and critic scenarios. This study clearly distinguishes it from dealing with the Intifada and the village in the rest of Barghouti's works, was written to a non-Palestinian and non-Arab audience. Most of its reference references were to Israeli sources in the first instance, official or semi-official Palestinian and non-Palestinian sources in the second place. It did not resort to self-experience referrals such as the rest of Barghouti's writings on the Intifada and others, so that the reader barely alludes here the light of the usual mental spirit in his writings only occasionally.
In this study, Barghouti disintegrates the structure of the organs of the Israeli occupying state, namely Regular army units settlers, civil administration, Shin Beth intelligence service, the network of agents that supported the establishment of village links, led by Israeli officers and about 1000 policemen. He then compares it with the structure of the Palestinian state organs, which are the four main factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and the Palestinian National Communist Party and the structure that they provide for the resistance, in the form of trade unions, popular committees, and forces fighting the Intifada. The rest of the study is preoccupied with tracking the establishment of the popular committees by the leftist Palestinian movements and their work in the Palestinian village in particular to confront the occupation policies and to thwart their planning on two levels. The first is to control the Palestinian masses through control and exclusion tools such as killing, bleeding, capturing, and collective punishments such as curfew, siege, combing, and economic war. The second is to pass non-national political programs such as the Village Links Project as an extension of the Israeli occupation, and the Confederacy project with Jordan in its capacity as an option that does not meet the aspirations of Palestinians and their right to self-determination, return and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital
This study consists of an introduction and five sections providing us with a sophisticated chronology that monitors Palestinian villages during the first intifada from its inception on 9 December 1987 until the proclamation of Palestinian independence on 15 November 1988. It takes David's metaphor in the face of Goliath, a barefoot Palestinian child facing Israeli military environs in the town of Qabatiya in Jenin, like a metaphor of the entire intifada and a political saying that the will of Palestinian popular will triumph over the will of the settler-colonial state Israel in that intifada.
