المستخلص: The study aimed to identify the presence of guidance counselling competencies among mentors and their relationship with their functional performance, from the point of view of school principals in Jordan, in view of some variables. The study sample consisted of 80 principals, 36 males and 44 females, from the primary education in Amman. Two study tools were also developed by the researchers. They were a guidance competencies questionnaire and a functional performance questionnaire. They were applied to the study sample after verifying their psychometric characteristics in respect to veracity (accuracy) and consistency.
The results revealed the presence of statistically substantiated differences in the views of the school principals concerning the relationship of the guidance competencies among mentors and the relationship of that to their functional performance. It also showed statistically substantiated differences, at the indicative level (0.05 > a), in respect to viewpoints, attributable to the experience variable. Just as statistically substantiated differences were found at the indicative level (0.05 > a), in respect to viewpoints, attributable to the gender variable. There were also statistically substantiated differences in respect to the views of school principals concerning the relationship of the level of the mentors' possession of guidance counselling competencies with their functional performance, attributable to the academic qualification variable.

هدفت الدراسة تعرف مدي توافر الكفايات الإرشادية لدي المرشدين وعلاقتها بأدائهم الوظيفي من وجهة نظر مدراء المدارس في الأردن في ضوء بعض المتغيرات وقد تكونت عينة الدراسة من (80) مديرا ومديرة مدرسة، (36 ذكرا- 44 أنثى) في تربية عمان الأولي. كما تم تطوير أداتي الدراسة من قبل الباحثتين وهما استبانة الكفايات الإرشادية واستبانة الأداء الوظيفي، حيث تم تطبيقهما علي عينة الدراسة بعد التحقق من خصائصهما السيكومترية من خلال الصدق والثبات. وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في وجهات نظر مدراء المدارس حول علاقة الكفايات الإرشادية لدي المرشدين وعلاقة ذلك بأدائهم الوظيفي، كما أظهرت وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوي الدلالة (0.05>a) في وجهات تعزي لمتغير الخبرة كما وجدت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوي دلالة (0.05>a) في وجهات نظرهم تعزي لمتغير الجنس ووجدت أيضا فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في وجهات نظر كدراء المدارس حول علاقة درجة امتلاك المرشدين للكفايات الإرشادية بأدائهم الوظيفي تعزي لمتغير المؤهل العلمي.
