فمادة هذا البحث عن شخصية من الشخصيات الإسلامية "خالد بن عبد الله القسري" وقد اضطربت المصادر التاريخية في الكلام عنه، بين مادح، وذام، فرأيت أن أبحث عن الجوانب المختلفة لهذه الشخصية، لبيان ما له وما عليه، وقد عنيت به في هذا البحث، إنصافًا لخالدٍ وبيانًا لحقيقة ما أثير حوله. وقد جاء في مقدمة وتمهيد وثلاثة مباحث. فأما المقدمة فذكرت فيها سبب اختياري لهذا البحث. وأما التمهيد: فذكرت فيه نبذة عن أحوال الدولة الأموية في الفترة من 66 - 126 ه، وهي الفترة التي عاصرها خالد. وأما المبحث الأول: تناولت فيه حياة خالد، وأعماله، وصفاته الشخصية؛ فذكرت اسمه ونسبه وكنيته، ومولده ونشأته وبيته وبيئته، وصفاته الشخصية، ورواياته؛ وذكرت أعماله، وقسمتها إلى أقسام: الأول: في نطاق الأماكن المقدسة. الثاني: في مجال المال والاقتصاد. الثالث: في مجال الزراعة وبناء السدود وحفر الآبار والأنهار. الرابع: في مجال الطرق وإقامة القناطر، وإصلاح البلدان. ثم أعقبت ذلك بذكر بعض من ولي له؛ وتناولته من جهتين، الأولى: فيما يخص خالد، والثانية: فيما يخص عماله ومن ولي له، ثم ذكرت عددًا ممن ولي له القضاء والخراج إلخ. وتناولت في المبحث الثاني بيان ما أثير حول خالدٍ ومواقفه المشهودة في التصدي للمبتدعة ومدعي النبوة والزندقة. ثم جاء المبحث الثالث وذكرت فيه مقتله في سنة ست وعشرين ومائة. ثم جاءت الخاتمة وبينت فيها أهم النتائج والتوصيات التي توصلت إليها في البحث.
The subject of this study is an Islamic personality, i.e., “Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Qasri.” The historical sources about him are divided between those who praised him and those who calumniated him. I, therefore, saw the need to look for the different aspects of this personality to show his contributions and what has been written against him. I was concerned with him in this research in order to be fair with Khalid and to state the reality of the controversies that surround him. The study includes an introduction, a preface, and three topics. In the introduction, I stated the reason why I chose this research. In the preface, I mentioned an overview of the conditions of the Umayyad State between 66 - 126 AH. It is the period that Khaled lived. I dealt with the life of Khaled, works, and personal qualities in the first topic. I mentioned his name, lineage, nickname, birth, upbringing, home, environment, personal qualities, and narrations. I mentioned his works and divided them into a few kinds: First: In the scope of holy places. Second: In the field of finance and economics.Third: In the field of agriculture, construction of dams, drilling wells and rivers. Fourth: in the field of roads, archways, and reforming the land. I followed this by mentioning some who assigned him (duties). I dealt with it on two sides. The first concerns Khaled, and the second concerns his workers and those who assigned him (duties). I then mentioned a number of those people who assigned him the judiciary, Kharaj (tax on agricultural produce), etc. In the second topic, I addressed the controversies surrounding Khaled and his remarkable positions in confronting the innovation (in Islam), the claimants of prophethood, and Zandaqa. Then came the third topic in which I stated his death in 125 AH. It was followed by the conclusion in which I outlined the most important findings and recommendations that I reached in the research.
