In the early 1990s, the Maghreb countries began a series of reforms under the auspices of international organizations, namely the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, to move their economies from an economy strongly protected by a principal state investor in an economy open to the impulse of the national and foreign private sector as the main engine of growth. Indeed, the investment climate is essential for promoting growth and reducing poverty. The governments of the Maghreb countries are aware of the importance of private investment and its interest in the economy of their countries. In this article, we will try to present the economic situation of the Maghreb countries and to give an overview on the legal framework of investments.
