استهدف البحث تقديم دراسة مقارنة نحو تبني المكتبات الأكاديمية في المملكة العربية السعودية للمكتبات الرقمية وفقاً لما ورد في بيان من وجهة نظر متخذي القرار IFLA. واستخدم البحث المنهج المسحي لمحاولة تقييم الواقع ومنهج تحليل المحتوى. وتكونت مجموعة البحث من 25 مكتبة من المكتبات الجامعية الحكومية في المملكة العربية السعودية. وتمثلت أدوات البحث في استبانة موجهة إلى المسؤولين عن المكتبات الأكاديمية بغرض جمع البيانات اللازمة. وأشارت نتائج البحث إلى ما يحفز المكتبات الأكاديمية في إنشاء مكتبات رقمية تحت مظلتها هو إنقاذ لسياسات وأهداف الإدارة العليا في المكتبة في المقام الأول. يليه إدراك متخذ القرار الذاتي بأهمية المكتبة الرقمية. ثم توفر خطة مكتوبة لتلك المكتبة. ثم تأتي أخيرا الاستجابة لمطالب المستفيدين في تأسيس هكذا مكتبات. كما كشف البحث العوامل الإيجابية التي تساعد على استمرار المكتبات الرقمية في إدراك مدير المكتبة الأكاديمية بأهمية خدمات المكتبة الرقمية ومصادرها ثم بالوعي الكافي لدي موظفي المكتبة الأكاديمية بأهمية رسالة وخدمات المكتبة الرقمية. وتوافر الدعم المادي المستمر. وأخيرا يأتي عامل المطالبة من قبل المستفيدين لمثل تلك المكتبات. وأوصى البحث بضرورة حث المكتبات الأكاديمية على إقامة معارض تعريفية عن المكتبات الرقمية وعقد دورات تدريبية لتعريف المستفيدين بخدماتها. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The research aimed to provide a comparative study on the adoption of the academic libraries in Saudi Arabia of the digital libraries, according to a statement from the viewpoint of IFLA decision makers. The research used the survey method to try to evaluate the reality and the content analysis methodology. The research group consisted of 25 public libraries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research tool was in a questionnaire addressed to those who are responsible for the academic libraries for the purpose of collecting the necessary data. The results of the research indicated that what motivates the academic libraries in establishing the digital libraries under its umbrella, is the rescue of the policies and the objectives of the senior management in the library in the first place, and followed by the self-determination of the digital library, and then providing a written plan for that library. Finally, the response to the demands of the beneficiaries in establishing such libraries is illustrated. The research also revealed the positive factors that help the continuation of the digital libraries in the understanding of the academic library manager of the importance of the digital library services and their sources, and the sufficient awareness of the academic library staff of the importance of the message and the services of the digital library, and the availability of continuous financial support. Finally the demand factor comes from the beneficiaries of such libraries. The research recommended that academic libraries should be encouraged to hold introductory exhibitions about the digital libraries and hold training courses to introduce the beneficiaries of their services.This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018
