The aim of the research is to identify the potential of professionals working in the libraries of health sciences and their skills and expertise they having to enable them to exercise the role of embedded librarian , on the other hand , the need for researchers to do this role. To collect the data, nine questionnaires were distributed to the professionals at the health libraries at the University of Baghdad and anthers 75 questionnaires were sent to the faculty members of these colleges. The data were analyzed according to descriptive statistics using the statistical SPSS program. The most important results were as follows: 1. Most professionals working in health science libraries have skills in various directions, including the use of techniques and research tools, English language, use of social networks to build relationships and provide services to the community of users. 2. The teachers have research skills by using databases and research tools at a good level, but they need help of the librarian in their colleges, especially since they have confidence in their potential and They do not want to be part of the research team because that will save a lot of time for their research . The research presented a number of proposals including: 1. Provide moral, professional and financial support to the librarian of the research teams by giving them a new professional characterization, which encourages them to practice this new role and not just new tasks received. 2. Transfer of the departments of library and information science from the Faculty of Arts to the faculties of science or administration and economics to increase the acceptance of graduates in the labor market. 3. Expanding the scope of acceptance in postgraduate studies and work on attracting graduates of other scientific disciplines to study high diploma in library and information science, which will provide professional and subject specialization for employees within the specialized libraries, which means easey of dealing with users and providing services better.
يهدف البحث إلى التعرف على امكانيات المهنيين العاملين في مكتبات العلوم الصحية والمهارات والخبرات التي يمتلكونها لتؤهلهم لممارسة دور المكتبي الضمني من جهة، ومعرفة حاجة الباحثين لقيام المكتبي بهذا الدور، ومدى ثقتهم بكفاءة المكتبيين لضمهم لفرق البحوث من جهة اخري. لجمع البيانات تم توزيع تسعة استبانات للمهنين في المكتبات الصحية في جامعة بغداد و75 استبانة بأسئلة اخرى لأعضاء هيئة التدريس في تلك الكليات، عولجت البيانات بتحليل الاجابات وفق الاحصاء الوصفي باستخدام برنامج spss الاحصائي وكانت اهم النتائج كما يلي: -يتمتع معظم المهنيين العاملين في مكتبات العلوم الصحية بمهارات باتجاهات عدة منها استخدام التقنيات وادوات البحث، اللغة الانكليزية، الاستفادة من شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي ببناء العلاقات وتقديم الخدمات لمجتمع المستفيدين - لدى المدرسين مهارات بحث باستخدام قواعد البيانات وادوات البحث بمستوى جيد إلا أنهم بحاجة لمساعدة المهنيين العاملين في مكتباتهم خاصة وانهم لديهم الثقة بإمكانياتهم ولا يمانعون في اشراكهم ضمن الفريق البحثي لان ذلك سيوفر الكثير من الوقت لإنجاز بحوثهم. قدم البحث عددا من المقترحات من بينها: 1- توفير الدعم المعنوي والمهني والمالي للمكتبيين ضمن الفرق البحثية بإعطائهم توصيفا مهنيا جديدا مما يشجعهم لممارسة هذا الدور الجديد على ان لا يكون مجرد مهام جديده تلقى عليهم. 2- نقل الأقسام الدراسية لعلم المكتبات والمعلومات من كلية الآداب إلى كليات العلوم أو الادارة والاقتصاد لزيادة تقبل الخريجين في سوق العمل. 3- توسيع نطاق القبول في الدراسات العليا والعمل على جذب خريجي التخصصات العلمية الاخرى لدراسة دبلوم عال في علم المكتبات والمعلومات مما سيوفر التخصص المهني والموضوعي للعاملين ضمن المكتبات المتخصصة مما يعني سهولة التعامل مع المستفيدين وتقديم خدمات بشكل افصل.
