يهدف البحث الحالي إلى توظيف التعليم الإلكتروني بالمدارس الثانوية الصناعية لتحقيق جودة التعليم، فقد أضحى تطوير التعليم ضرورة لا مناص منها، باعتباره أيسر السبل لتحقيق نهضة حضارية عصرية شاملة في ظل عصر العولمة، مما يمكن من مواجهة تحديات العصر ومجاراة التطور التكنولوجي. كما أن ارتفاع مستوى الوعي المعلوماتي في المجتمع ووفرة الكوادر البشرية العاملة والمؤهلة في مجال علوم الحاسب الآلي ونظم المعلومات وقدرة المجتمع في تعدد صناعاته وأداء خدماته وتطويره للتطبيقات المعلوماتية عبر استخدامات الحواسيب وشبكات المعلومات والاتصالات ونشرها من أهم المؤشرات العديدة على تحول المجتمع إلى مجتمع معلوماتي ومواكبته للثورة الإلكترونية ولتقنياتها الحديثة، فاستخدام الحواسيب والتقنية الحديثة المرافقة للنظام المعلوماتي هي من أهم الدعائم الأساسية في التعليم، لهذا يعد قطاع التعليم بما فيه من أنظمة تعليمية ومناهج دراسية مفتاح التنمية ومرتكزها الأساسي أحد الأهداف السامية التي تسخر لها الدولة إمكانياتها بغية تطويره وشحنه بشتى علوم المعرفة والتكنولوجيا المتطورة، ويعد الحاسب الآلي أهم أداة علمية تقنية تختصر الزمن يتم من خلالها تحقيق أفضل النتائج وبأقصر الطرق لما له من مزايا تمكن المتلقي والدارس من الفهم والاستيعاب واستخدام النمذجة والمحاكاة واللحاق بركب الحضارة المتسارع عبر أحدث تقنيات الأنظمة والتي من أهمها شبكات المعلومات " الإنترنت". وقد نمى مفهوم الجودة وأصبحت استراتيجية تنافسية وأساس لفلسفة إدارية شاملة هذه الفلسفة الإدارية المبنية على الجودة يمكن لتقنية التعليم الإلكتروني أن تساهم وبفعالية في تحقيق جودة التعليم الثانوي الصناعي إذا وجد التخطيط السليم والإعداد الجيد لبرامجه ومواده التعليمية، كما يمكن لهذه التقنية أن تساهم وإلى حد كبير في تحسين المخرجات التعليمية يشقيها الكمي والنوعي. حيث يختلف شكل المدرسة التي تقوم الدراسة فيها على أساس فكرة التعليم الإلكتروني، عنها في المدرسة التي تعتمد الدراسة فيها على العملية التعليمية التقليدية، وذلك لأن استخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات في العملية التعليمية، تؤدي إلى فعاليتها، وإثراء نوعية التعليم، فاستخدام التعليم الإلكتروني قد يزيل بعض العمل المجهد غير المنتج في جمع المعلومات والبيانات. وباستخدام التكنولوجيا الحديثة في التعليم، يمكن إعداد البرامج التي تتفق وحاجة الطلاب بسهولة ويسر، وذلك من حيث عرض المادة العلمية، وتحديد نقاط ضعف الطلاب ومن ثم إمكانية طرح الأنشطة العلاجية التي تتفق وحاجة الطلبة، كما يمكن عن طريق التكنولوجيا الحديثة تقليل زمن التعلم وزيادة التحصيل العلمي، بالإضافة إلي تثبيت وتقريب المفاهيم العلمية للمتعلم، كذلك يمكن استخدام خدمات الإنترنت في التعليم، والتي تتميز عن غيرها من الأدوات التعليمية في أن البحث عن المعلومات من خلالها يوفر جوا من المتعة
