The problem of this research is represented in the presence of a number of epithets accompanied the term 'rhetoric' in the writings of the modern and contemporary scholars of Rhetoric in an attempt of identifying the circle of rhetoric within these terms. Those scholars hoped to determine a special concept for rhetoric in order to transfer it from the sphere of concepts to the sphere of terminology, and to re define man himself according to such epithets, modern and contemporary, the owners tried to determine the labor department of eloquence through, hoping to identify this rhetoric concept is specific to, and extends their ambition to move rhetoric of concepts circle to the convention circuit, and even re¬definition of the same rights in accordance with these epithets. However, between the eagerness of achieving such a goaf and the actual realty of writings, problems and contradictories appeared as a result of such desire, which led to different attitudes towards our Arabic rhetoric. This, in turn, makes the need to pursue these circles of rhetoric through those epithets. Also, this invites us to ask some questions: What is the epistemological context of these epithets?, Are there features of connection or dissociation among them?, and How much do these they have of coalition or dissimilarity between those who suggested them and who used them?
تتمثل إشكالية هذا البحث في أن عددا من النعوت صاحبت مصطلح البلاغة في كتابات دارسي البلاغة المحدثين والمعاصرين، حاول أصحابها أن يحددوا دائرة العمل للبلاغة عبرها، آملين في أن يحددوا لهذه البلاغة مفهوما تختص به، ويمتد طموحهم أن ينتقلوا بالبلاغة من دائرة المفاهيم إلى دائرة الاصطلاح، بل وإعادة تعريف الإنسان نفسه وفقا لهذه النعوت. وما بين الرغبة في الإنجاز والواقع الفعلي للكتابة، ظهرت إشكالات وتناقضات ناتجة عن هذه الرغبة، ترتب عليها مواقف من بلاغتنا العربية؛ مما جعل الحاجة ماسة إلى تتبع هذه الدوائر التي تعمل فيها البلاغة عبر هذه النعوت. وهو ما يدعونا إلى طرح مجموعة من التساؤلات: ما السياق المعرفي الذي ظهرت فيه هذه النعوت، وهل تكشف فيما بينها عن دلالات تواصل أم انفصال، وما مقدار ائتلافها أو اختلافها بين من أوجدوها ومن استعملوها.
