تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف إلى أهم المشكلات الاجتماعية، المشكلات النفسية، وكذلك أهم المشكلات المرتبطة بدرجة الوعي في التعامل مع المراهق من ذوي متلازمة داون، مدى توافر الخدمات في المجتمع السعودي للمصابين بمتلازمة داون، مدى موافقة الأسر على دور الأخصائية الاجتماعية هع أسر المراهقين من ذوي متلازمة داون في مدينة الرياض، اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي، و تمثلت أداة جمع البيانات في إستبانة أعدت لهذا الغرض، وطبقت الدراسة على عينة عشوائية بلغ عددها (46) أسرة من مركزين لرعاية ذوي متلازمة داون، و ذلك لمدة 7 أشهر خلال الفترة من 15-1-1436 ه إلي 6-7-1436ه، وقد تبتي من الدراسة ارتفاع المشكلات الاجتماعية التي تواجه الأسر وهي: مشكلة مدى تأثر العلاقة الزوجية بسبب وجود بن / ابنه مصاب بملازمة داون بمتوسط حسابي (2.84) ، أن أكثر المشكلات النفسية التي تتعرض لما الأسر هي: ينتابني أحساس أن إعاقة ابنى بسبب ذنب اقترفته بمتوسط حسابي (2.73) ، أن أكثر المشكلات المرتبطة بدرجة الوعي في التعامل مع المراهقة من ذوي متلازمة داون هي مشكلة أجهل سبب عصبية ابني / ابنتي المصاب بملازمة داون بمتوسط حسابي (2.39) ، الخدمات التي حصلت على النصيب الأعلى من الرضا هي قيام إدارة المستشفى بربط الأسرة بمجرد الكشف عن وجود طفل متلازمة داون لديها بالجهات ذات العلاقة بمتوسط حسابي (2.28) ، أن أكثر الأدوار التي تقوم بها الأخصائية مع الأسر هي عمل جماعات الدعم النفسي للأسر المراهقين من ذوي متلازمة داون بمتوسط حسابي (2.26) .
The Study aimed at identifying the most significant social, physiological and other problems associated with the level of awareness in dealing with the adolescent male or female with down syndrome, the availability of services in the Saudi society for those affected with down syndrome, the extent of family consent on the role of the social specialist with families of adolescent males and females with down syndrome in Riyadh. The study relayed on the descriptive approach and the questionnaire to collect the data. The study was applied on a random sample of 46 families from two center providing care for persons with down syndrome for 7 months during the period from 1st of Muharram 1436H to 6th of Rajab 1436H. The study revealed increase of the problems faced by the families including; The marriage relationship is affected because of the presence of the son / daughter with Down syndrome, at a mean of 2.84. That the most psychological problems suffered by families are: I feel that my son’s disability is due to a sin I have committed, at a mean of 2.73. That the most awareness problems associated with a level of awareness in dealing with the adolescent with Down’s syndrome is my unawareness of the causes of the nervousness of my son / daughter with Down syndrome patient at a mean of 2.39. The most important satisfactory services received is that the hospital management has linked the family to the hospital upon detection of a child with Down syndrome at a mean of 2.28. That the most important roles played by social specialist is to create psychological support groups for families of adolescents with Down syndrome at a mean of 2.26.
