الھدف من ھذه الدراسة ھو التعرف على الكفایات التربویة اللازمة لمعلمي الأطفال المعاقین عقلیا. ولتحقیق ھدف ھذه الدراسة اختير جمیع معلمي مراكز التربیة الخاصة بالبیضاء والمرج وبنغازي والبالغ عددھم .115 تم إعداد استبانه لجمع البیانات تكونت من تسع وعشرین فقرة وتم التحقق من صدقھا وثباتھا وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج منھا. یفتقر معلمو الأطفال المعاقین عقلیا إلى جمع الكفایات اللازمة للتعامل مع ھذه الفئة. یحتاج معلمو ھذه الفئة إلى التدریب الفعال للتعامل مع المعاق وأسرته. لم تتوصل الدراسة إلى فروق بین أفراد العینة ترجع إلى متغیرات النوع والتخصص والخبرة. بناء على نتائج الدراسة جاءت توصیات الدراسة لتؤكد على أھمیة تدریب معلمي ھذه الفئة خاصة في ما یتعلق بعملیات التشخیص والتقویم ولزیادة الفائدة العلمیة اقترح الباحث إجراء دراسة على عینة تشمل جمیع فئات الإعاقة أو جراء دراسة حول واقع مناھج ھذه الفئات وكیفیة تدریسھا.
The purpose of the study was to determine the needed educational competencies for teachers of mentally retarded students. The study aimed at answering the following questions: What were the needed educational competencies as perceived by the members of the sample? Were there any statistical differences in the needed competencies regarding the type of competences? Were there any statistical differences among the sample regarding, gender, or degree, or major or experience? The sample of the study constituted all teachers in three centers Eleshrak in Elbaida, Elmarge compound, and Benghazi center for mentally retarded. The total number of the sample was 115 teachers. A questionnaire was developed to gather the need data to answer the study questions. The validity and reliability for the questionnaire were taken. The study findings were: all competencies were needed by the teachers. There were no significant differences among the member of the sample regarding gender, or degree, or major or experience. The study recommended that: We must plan a pre-service quality program for preparing teachers of mentally retarded students, also there is a need for in-service training for teachers of mentally retarded to help them update their knowledge and skills.
