The Iraqi poet Hasab Al-Sheikh Jaafar belongs to the new generation of poets that followed the pioneers of Modernism in Arabic poetry, this generation was characterized by being free from the dominance of the ideologies frankness, so the poets turned to themselves, to their language and their thoughtful literary art. In his literary production, Hasab did not only focus on poetry alone, but he also wrote on theater, radio drama, biography and criticism, then he turned to fiction writing after the maturity of his literary and cultural experience in general. His novel "Maybe it's Just a Dance" is one of his distinguished production. I have tried to view this novel critically, so I have found that the poetic feature that Hassab had embraced is completely overshadowed the other features, also the other elements underwent to it including narrative, which is usually the main component in fiction works.
