انتهج السلف الصالح منهجا معتدلا في الدعوة ونقد الدعاة، فلم يكن منهم إفراط فيه أو غلوا، ولما كان النقد من باب الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر، كان من أوجب الواجبات على الأمة، وهو من النصح للمؤمنين، والنقد البناء المنضبط بضوابط الشرع مما ينبغي الحفاظ عليه، حتى لا تذهب هيبة الدعاة من النفوس، فيذهب بذهابها الدعوة، ولا يستقيم أمرها، ومتى التزم بهذه الضوابط في النقد استطاع الدعاة تصحيح مسار بعضهم، من غير خوف أو نكير، فيتحقق مقصد الشريعة من الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر، ومعرفة المنهج النقدي الصحيح في الدعوة مفتقر إليه، لأن الناس فيه: إما متساهل، ينفر ممن أراد تصحيح منهجه، أو متشدد، جعل الدعاة سواء في تنكبهم على النهج الصحيح، وإما متوسط بينهما، فهو يقوم المعوج من غير تسفيه لمنهج، يبتغي النفع والتصحيح، ولذا كانت هذه الدراسة، التي تبين المنهج الصحيح في مجال نقد الدعاة.
