تعاني الصناعات الكيمياوية في محافظة البصرة من عدة مشكلات، على الرغم من توفر امكانيات استثمارها في المحافظة، إلا ان أوضاع الصناعات الكيمياوية لا زالت متراجعة ما عانت منه المحافظة والعراق من عدم استقرار وحروب وتوقف الخطط الاقتصاديات وتدمير المنشآت الصناعية لاسيما منذ عقد الثمانينات في القرن الماضي ولازال مستمرا لليوم، مما نجم عنها انهيار القاعدة الصناعية للبلد التي تعد الاساس في التقدم الاقتصادي، وعند الاهتمام بها وتحقيق تنمية صناعية فعالة لساهمت في حركة تنمية الاقتصاد الوطني، يناقش هذا البحث اهم المشكلات التي ساهمت في تدهور الصناعات الكيمياوية في محافظة البصرة، مع وضع بعض المقترحات لغرض تنميتها، اذ تبين لنا ان هناك جملة من المشكلات الصناعية التي تواجه الصناعات الكيمياوية في محافظة البصرة أهمها اتباع الدولة السياسة الاقتصادية الباب المفتوح امام البضائع والسلع المستوردة، المعوقات الادارية والتنظيمية، البطالة المقنعة فضلا عن عدم الاستقرار الامني الذي اثر على صعوبات في الاستثمار الاجنبي، واهم المقترحات هي حل ازمة الطاقة الكهربائية، تشغيل الخطوط الانتاجية المعطلة، تهيئة المنشآت الصناعية لاستقبال التكنولوجية ، ايلاء اهمية للبنى التحتية وتحسين شبكات النقل البرية والبحرية، وغيرها من المقترحات التي يمكن الاخذ بها لمعالجة تلك المشكلات والنهوض بهذا القطاع الحيوي الذي يسهم بتوفير السلع الاستراتيجية، فضلاً عن توفير فرص عمل لأكثر من سبعة الاف عامل في المحافظة، الذي ينعكس بصورة ايجابية على اقتصاد البلد.

Security, which affected the difficulties in foreign investment, and the most important proposals are to resolve the crisis of electric power, the operation of idle production lines, the establishment of industrial facilities for the reception of technology, the importance of infrastructure and improvement of land and sea transport networks And other proposals that can be taken to address these problems and promote this vital sector, which contributes to the provision of strategic goods, as well as provide employment opportunities for more than seven thousand workers in the province, which is reflected positively on the economy of the country
