المستخلص: يقوم البحث على قراءة شعر أبي العتاهية قراءة ثانية في ضوء معطيات علم الأسلوب، قراءة غير محملة بآراء مسبقة عن الشاعر، وغير متأثرة بما وصف به شعره بأنه تشاؤمي يدعو إلى الخنوع والاستسلام والانكفاء على الذات، والانسحاب من الحياة والإحجام عن إعمارها وانتظار الموت؛ قراءة لا تتخذ من حياة الشاعر منطلقها، بل تتعامل مع الشعر بوصفه بنية لغوية، وتنظر إليه من منظور الفن. واتخذت من دراسة دلالات التراكيب اللغوية الاستفهامية؛ وخصصت منها ما دخلت عليه الهمزة، قاعدة لهذه القراءة؛ لأن لكثرة ورودها في ديوانه دلالة تستحق العناية، فقد سيطرت على ذهنه فكرتا (الثبات والتحول)؛ فأدخل همزة الاستفهام على الجملة الفعلية لتحاكي، بدلالتها على الحركة، حركة حفزه الإنسان إلى إعمار الحياة، وخرج بها عن دلالة الاستفهام إلى إفادة (التقرير) الذي نبه به الغافل عن سير الحياة، باختياره أسلوب "الالتفات"، وذلك من خلال التحول بالضمائر وبنمط الجملة. وخرج بالتقرير إلى إفادة التعجب والتهكم والنفي، وأفاد بها (الإنكار) و(الأمر)؛ ليقوم السلوك الإنساني ويهذب النفوس، مختاراً أسلوباً راقياً للتوجيه والتأديب؛ فبان من خلال ما يخبئه التركيب اللغوي الاستفهامي من أسرار وأفكار، أن دعوة الشاعر أخاه الإنسان إلى الإقبال على الحياة والإقدام عليها بغية إعمارها بأدائه الأمانة التي حملها، دعوة جادة تفاؤلية وإن تزيت بزي التشاؤمية، فألفيت فيه مصلحاً اجتماعياً Social Reformer يدعو إلى تقويم السلوك الإنساني

The research is based on giving Abi – al Attahia's poetry a second reading in accordance with new principles of style, a reading which is not overweight with the burden of the pre-opinions about the poet and which is not affected with what the poet's poetry had been identified as being pessimistic calling for passivity, giving up and self-isolation, Retreating from life, neglecting it's construction and waiting for death. A reading that does not assume the poet's life as it's starting point, but it deals with poetry as a linguistic construction, and looks at it from an artistic point of view . I took into consideration the denotations of the analytical study of the interrogative linguistic structures; and I specified out of it what the spur accent (al Hamza) entered in it, as a base rule for this reading, because of it's frequent recurring in his poetic works (divan) really deserves profound care. His mind was wholly controlled by tow ideas of stability and conversion, so he inserted (al Hamza) the interrogative spur accent to the verbal sentence to imitate with it's features of intonation the active motivation of the human to construct the life. And he deviated the sense of interrogation for the sake of utilizing (the report) by which he warned the one who is inattentive to the process of life. This is done by his choice of the "Turn around" style, by playing on the pronouns and the sentence style, his conclusion was to utilize the intonation of exclamation, irony and negation. He employed these techniques to establish both denying and commanding tones, to correct human manner and purify the souls, by choosing eloquent style for directing and recommending. Ideas and secrets were revealed from under the interrogative linguistic structure. The poet's invitation to humanity to avail the chance of life and to do the best to build it up with profound faith and trust as a sacred duty is a serious optimistic invitation even if it is decorated with a pessimistic costume. I have found in him a social reformer calling to correct Human manners
