المستخلص: Construction industry is playing significant role in the Jordanian economy and considered as one of the most significant industries in the country. Bidding competitiveness also considered as one of the vital subjects in construction industry because of giving an indices for industrial health. The goal of this study is to improve bidding competitiveness strategies by managing bidding cost for construction projects in Jordan. The targets of this study were accomplished by literature review about bidding competitiveness to recognize the factors influencing competitiveness attitude in construction projects, then a questionnaire was conducted. Eighty two factors were specified, grouped into eight groups. It was distributed 325 questionnaires to all five contracting companies categories in Jordan. In addition to two case studies for two projects, inclusive the first three contracting companies competing for each project, these case studies were carried out to assess and examine the cost competitiveness for construction industry in Jordan as a main section for this research. Statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) will be used in analyzing the questionnaires to obtain the data. The model for evaluating the cost competitiveness for contracting companies was developed by analyzing the required result from the questionnaires. Factor analysis technique was conducted to evaluate cost competitiveness strategies by model development. The four clusters which produced from model development contain 17 factors. The model will help the contracting companies to rise up their opportunities to win the contracts. The results of this research advised the contractors to hold a sessions between them to interchange the information, strategies and proposals which trace improving bidding competitive strategies. The clients and consultants are advised to enlarge the invited categories to include the low categories such as fourth category and fifth category.
