المستخلص: The issue of unemployment takes a pivotal position among the social, economic and political problems in any society. It is a serious humanitarian problem faced more or less by the whole world. This problem is no less serious for our country Pakistan. Unemployment is also one of the most important problems that simultaneously influence the over-all development of individuals and society. Total unemployment or underemployment may be permanent or temporary problem. Its negative and damaging effects, especially in times of economic recession, are further compounded. This paper attempts to explore the causes and effects of this problem and its solutions that the author derives from the light of Sunnah. At the same time, as a basic premise, it takes due notice of the virtues of work and its value and positive impact on the community underlined in the Sunnah.
