This paper highlights the importance of ethics for one of the most common economic activities, that is trading. It explains the relevant ethics and values and their role in regulating trade in the Islamic market taking place through interactions between Muslims themselves and between Muslims and others such as selling commodities, providing different services, contracts and leases and forming new companies. All these procedures are based on the principle of controlled economic freedom established by Islam in economic activity along with maintaining the rules of ethics explained in this paper in detail such as observing the requirements of al l (allowed) and avoiding the forms and ways of ar m when trading in the Islamic market. The sanctity of individual ownership goes side by side with the spirit of brotherhood being dominant in all transactions. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of these ethics and values as effective means leading to better trading methodologies. The findings of this study reveal the importance of analyzing this element through observing values of ethics as an important determinant of trade activity. This is a far cry from the Capitalist financial systems that tend to exclude values and or system of ethics from the dynamics trade relations. |
