Ad th scholars have rendered a great service for humanity by supplying the knowledge of ad th, then developing it in proper order through the method which they evolved for this purpose with meticulous effort. All this effort was meant to serve the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAWS and the human community at large. No doubt the scholars of ad th differ from each other in determining the degree of authenticity of each ad th report and setting it in appropriate category accordingly. For the purpose of this clear categorization in terms of authenticity, the scholars of ad th thoroughly investigated the relevant reports by other narrators before determining its text and status. This paper highlights the importance of this meticulous exercise in ascertaining the authentic reporting of each ad th. |
