استهدفت هذه الدراسة معرفة مفهوم الرسوم التوضيحية، ودورها في عملية التصميم والإخراج الفني للكتاب المدرسي لمرحلة التعليم الأساسي، ومدى مناسبتها للمراحل العمرية المختلفة لطلاب مرحلة التعليم الأساسي. وتحديد عيوب الرسومات التوضيحية، وما هي الأسس والمعايير التي يجب أن توضع للرسوم التوضيحية للكتاب المدرسي لمرحلة التعليم الأساسي. من خلال الدراسة وضح أن الرسوم المتضمنة في بعض كتب مرحلة التعليم الأساسي موضوع الدراسة حاز بعضها نسبا مرتفعة وبعضها نسبا منخفضة نسبيا في درجة ارتباطها بالمعايير والأسس الموضوعة للرسوم التوضيحية. كما أثبتت الدراسة أهمية توظيف الصور والرسوم بما يناسب المستوى العقلي والمعرفي لتلاميذ مرحلة التعليم الأساسي. وأوصت الدراسة انطلاقا من أهمية الرسوم التوضيحية أن يراعى في الصور والرسوم والأشكال التي تقدم للمتعلمين أهميتها للمتعلم وعلاقتها بأهداف الدروس وقيم المجتمع وأعرافه. وضرورة الاهتمام عند إعداد الكتاب المدرسي بأن لا يقتصر الاهتمام على المحتوى التعليمي كنصوص لغوية فقط بل الاهتمام باللغة البصرية الرمزية ذات الدلالات المتنوعة وضرورة الاهتمام بالثقافة البصرية وتنمية مهارات قراءتها.
This study aims at defining the concept of illustrative drawings and its roles in the technical design and production of the basic school level book; and how these are relevant to the different ages of the pupils. It also aims at' showing the defects of these drawings in addition to the principles and criteria upon which these drawings should be done to fit the basic school education. From the study, it became apparent that some of the drawings in the basic level school books gained high degree of acceptance, while others gained low degree of acceptance as concerning the principles and criteria for illustrative drawings. In addition to that, the study confirms the importance of manipulating the pictures and illustrations in accordance to the mentality of the pupils in the basic school. For the importance of the pictures and illustrations, the study recommends that they should be relevant to the subject matter of the lesson and its objectives bearing in mind the Sudanese society and its norms. Moreover, the school book should not just be limited to the language as a form of discourse only, but it should give due attention to the symbolic visionary language which has various connotations and interpretations. Furthermore, attention should be paid to vision culture, its teaching and interpretation.
