520 |b Syria witnessed important political events in the post- World War era and became a station of international conflict, especially between Britain and France, which used the religious sects in the division of greater Syria into political entities whose purpose was to achieve their political and economic interests by encouraging those communities to seek separation from Syria and the formation of independent states fully independent. Since the Maronite community was the majority community in mount Lebanon, which enjoyed self-rule since 1861. France used the mount board and asked them to raise a memorandum calling for independence and separation from Syria. In order to Shed light on the French attempts to achieve secession. Those attempts and the achievement of French goals in the fragmentation of Syria. The research divided into the introduction, five subjects and conclusion and touched on the first issue to the position of the Governing Council of Mount Lebanon of the formation of the Arab government in Damascus and the second study of the delegation of the Board of Directors of the peace conference in Paris and dealt with the third position of the Board of Directors of the policy of prince Faisal towards Lebanon and the fourth specialized study of the position of the Board of Directors of the international Referendum commission and the fifth position of the Council decisions of the Syrian General Conference and clarified the latter position French policy towards Mount Lebanon. The study was based on collection of sources. Unpublished sources come at the beginning of these sources and consisted of two collections. The first documents included the archives of the Maronite patriarchate Mai Yorki and the second documents of the French Foreign Ministry known as de Courcy. It also relied on the diaries of some Lebanese politicians asyousf Alswda Arabic books were important in providing historical information. Moreover, the newspapers contributed to the promotion of the study with information that may not exist in the sources mentioned before."
