|b Syria witnessed important political events in the post- World War era and became a station of international conflict, especially between Britain and France, which used the religious sects in the division of greater Syria into political entities whose purpose was to achieve their political and economic interests by encouraging those communities to seek separation from Syria and the formation of independent states fully independent. Since the Maronite community was the majority community in mount Lebanon, which enjoyed self-rule since 1861. France used the mount board and asked them to raise a memorandum calling for independence and separation from Syria. In order to Shed light on the French attempts to achieve secession. Those attempts and the achievement of French goals in the fragmentation of Syria.
