|b This study aims to examine Article 54 of the Jordanian Arbitration Act in light of the Jordanian Constitutional Court decision ruling it unconstitutional. Its purpose is to examine if the decision could be an obstacle against arbitration in Jordan. The study concludes that the court decision respects the principles of law. It cannot be said that the decision constitutes an obstacle to arbitration. The study also concludes that Article 54 of the Jordanian Arbitration Act is singing out of tune. It is contradictory, oppressive and inconsistent with global legal trends.
