تقوم هذه الدراسة على كتاب شرح المعلقات التسع، لأبي عمرو الشيباني، الذي سبب إليه الكتاب عن طريق الخطأ، ولم يوفق محقق الكتاب في نفيه أو إثباته عن الشيباني، وذلك راجع في تقديري إلى عدم اكتراث المحقق بضوابط تحقيق النصوص وأصوله، فلم يوضح لنا في مقدمته أنه تعقب أو بحث عن أصل الكتاب أو نسخه الأخرى أو من أشار إليه من القدماء والمحدثين. واقتضت طبيعة البحث أن يقسم على ثلاثة محاور نقدية رئيسة، هي مقدمة المحقق: ناقشت فيها أهم الأمور التي تطرق إليها المحقق وجانب الصواب فيها، وعمله في التحقيق، وتأرجحه في نغي الكتاب عن أبي عمرو الشيباني وإثباته. وناقشت في المحور الثاني: نقد المنهج في الكتاب، وضحت فيه اختلاف منهجه في تعامله مع الآيات القرآنية والحديث النبوي والشعر والشخصيات التي وردت في الكتاب، وناقشت في المحور الثالث: نقد تحقيق النصوص، وهو كثير سببه القراءة المغلوطة، وعدم تخريج النصوص من مواضع تخريجها، وكثرة إقحام النصوص الخارجية في الكتاب.
This study is concerned with the book The Explanation of Nine Mu'allaqat of Aba Amru Al-Sheibani which was attributed to him by mistake and the book editor has not been able to attribute it to Al-Sheibani or not, due to the carelessness of the editor of the regulations and fundamentals of the text editing. As he has not explained for us in his preface that he pursued or searched for the origin of the book or its other versions or the ancient and modern writers who referred to it. The paper is divided into three basic critical parts; the introduction of the editor where I discussed the most important issues which the editor dealt with, included the right thing, his work in editing and his fluctuation in not attributing the book to Aba Amru Al-Sheibani or proving it. In the Second part, I discussed the criticism of the methodology of the book, then I explained his nature in his treatment of the Qura'nic verses, prophetic Hadith, poetry and the characters which were mentioned in the book. In the third part, I discussed the criticism of text editing; they are many caused by the wrong reading, not relating the texts to their own writers, and much insertion of the external texts in the book
