يتناول البحث شخصية الوزير الفاطمي يعقوب بن كلس من حيث اسمه ونسبه ثم ولادته ونشأته في بغداد خلال فتره شبابه وتعليمه وطبيعة عمله في مجال التجارة وانتقاله مع أسرته من بغداد إلى بلاد الشام ومنها إلى مصر. إما عن أسرته فإن المصادر التاريخية لم تذكر الكثير عن ذلك ولكننا بحثنا بين طيات هذه المصادر فوجدنا الشيء اليسير عن هذه الأسرة. وتطرق البحث إلى أهم الأسباب التي دفعت بن كلس للهجرة إلى مصر ثم تناولنا ديانته وكيف تحول من ديانته اليهودية إلى الدين الإسلامية ذاكرين عدة روايات عن حقيقة إسلامه، بعد ذلك تطرقنا إلى وفاته وما تركه على نفوس الأخرين والدولة الفاطمية وبينا حزن الخليفة الفاطمي العزيز بالله وبالإجراءات التي اتخذها بالدولة عقب وفاته والتركة التي خلفها بن كلس. وجاءت خاتمة البحث في النهاية وأهم النتائج التي توصلنا إليها وألحقناه بقائمة احتوت على أهم المصادر والمراجع التي اعتمدنا عليها.
The research deals with the personality of the Fatimid minister Yacoub ben kels in terms of his name and descent and then his birth and his birth Baghdad during his youth and education and the nature of his work in the field of trade and then move with his family from Baghdad to the Levant and to Egypt. The conclusion of the research in the end and the most important result that we reached and attached to the list contains the most important source and references we relied on.
